Did you thought about a second nut (aka. counternut) ?
I am a little bit terrified by the thought that the belt could lose it self while printing which would influence the accuracy of the build.

we thought about it, yes, but current tests show that there’s enough friction between the thumbwheel and its slot inside the X-carriage/-end to prevent loosening of the belts. Even in case this doesn’t proove true in the long term it would only be a matter of three additional tiny thumbwheels and M4 nuts to solve this issue..
