We’re excited to announce that the Kühling&Kühling RepRap Industrial 3D printer kit is now available for pre-order!
It’s been busy weeks getting our business ready for sales start while doing a lot of further development on the printer, but finally we are well prepared for the next step. As of today the Kühling&Kühling webshop is set up accepting pre-orders and for a short term only you have the chance to get your printer at a special introductory price. This special offer will be valid to May 26th, 2013, so be sure to grab yours soon to receive one of the very first printer kits that will leave our space – first come, first serve!

Production funding pre-order
In order not to break overly excited promises of earlier shipping, the lead time may be chosen with quite a portion of extra safety, as anyone starting a business should be aware of the most unimaginable things to happen delaying an otherwise precisely scheduled manufacturing ramp-up. We are working hard to beat the estimation and the more pre-orders we receive right at the beginning, the faster we can go.
While all the basic development concerning the 3d printer itself is done and quotes for all parts from our suppliers are on hand, there’s still a pile of work to be done with setting up our production. Since the Kühling&Kühling RepRap Industrial is a true RepRap, the majority of its parts will be 3D printed – by the same machines, of course. Therefore the very first step will be to further raise our own population of RepRap Industrials in order to manufacture the printed plastic components in time and this is likely going to be the most time consuming part of the mission. We expect to grow our production printer gang to final size within three months from now and there will be a couple of opportunities for minor design improvements during this process, so that we can provide an extensively tested RepRap 3D printer design as soon as we begin making first parts for to-be-delivered kits.
Detailed assembly instructions as well as the user interface part of our RasPi-touchscreen-controller will be finalized along building and verification of the print farm, so final kit production will begin by end of July and chances are to ship first orders earlier than October. Either way we will continuously keep you up-to-date about the detailed progress.
Thank you all – your great feedback and support is very much appreciated!
